STUDY PROGRAMS

Plovdiv Medical University provides three English-language study programs: Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, all leading to a Master’s degree.

  • The Medicine program in English lasts six years, with the final year dedicated to a clinical internship at the Faculty of Medicine. The annual tuition is 9000 EUR, and there are 300 spots available for international students each year.
  • For Dental Medicine in English, the program takes five and a half years, including an internship. Tuition is 4500 EUR per semester (9000 EUR per year), and 100 places are open for international students annually.
  • The Pharmacy program in English spans five years and includes an internship, with an annual tuition of 6000 EUR. There are 50 spots available each year for international students.

Plovdiv Medical University offers scholarships to students with excellent grades and active participation in extracurricular activities, but these do not cover tuition fees. Some students, especially from Germany and Sweden, apply for student loans in their home countries.

When pursuing a medical education in English, the initial two years at the university focus on pre-clinical training, encompassing subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Latin, and Anatomy.

All educational sessions are conducted in the English language, and students also acquire basic knowledge in Bulgarian language to engage with local residents and patients.

Instruction is typically delivered through lectures and seminars scheduled on weekdays. The concluding year of the university program involves a range of internships at various hospitals.
